Our clients had recently moved into this lovely period cottage, complete with plentiful character features. They wanted to add their personality to the house whilst remaining sympathetic to the age and character of the building.
The first thing we did was to block up the wall between the dining and lounge spaces to create a warm and cosy lounge area. We agreed with the clients a palette of grey, navy and mustard paints and furnishings. Suggesting key suppliers, we sourced striking glass lighting and contemporary artwork. We re-designed the staircase with solid wood treads installed and fitted with a smart herringbone runner from Alternative Flooring. Careful to ensure a flow throughout the house, we used a harmonious palette of colours and the end result is both elegant and welcoming.
“We’re absolutely delighted with the end result of our lounge and could not recommend Lucy more. She freely shared ideas and insights from the first consultation. Her flexible approach meant we achieved a result which was perfect for us and to our taste. We’ve found Lucy really responsive and professional and her recommendations of items and suppliers were invaluable.”
